Your apartment booking is not a package holiday — and that decides what you get back when it fails
The right to cancel without a fee and recover everything you paid comes from package travel law. A room booked on its own falls under the Consumer Rights Act instead, where the remedy is repeat performance or a price reduction — and there is no insolvency protection at all.
